The Hallam Warriors are pleased to announce the return to the fold of one of the original ‘Old Boys’ Adrian ‘Dibs’ Sibley has accepted an offer to re join the team as Assistant Head Coach. Dibs will immediately set to task working with the running backs and improving the running game to an elite level.
Of the appointment Head Coach Richard Batty said “I am delighted to see Dibs return to his rightful place among the Warriors. My own history with the Warriors started with working alongside Dibs and it will be like old times taking up where we left off. I hold Dibs in the highest regard and we were one of a number of offers he had to coach. it is our good fortune he has chose us and will add a number of dimensions to the programme. The most obvious of which is an enthusiasm and hustle and high work ethic. Our running game has had a high end upgrade with this addition and we hope to go from strength to strength this year.”
For his part Dibs was just as enthusiastic.
Compliments don’t get much higher than being invited to join a very successful team, this applies to all sports and positions, be it player or coach . But if the team that’s doing the asking is one you have history with, well that’s a different thing. First there is the feeling that your back where it all started for you, then you get the nostalgia from the memories of old boys and games gone by, then you get the realization that you have to be 100% at the top of your game because you were asked for a reason.
Warriors have not just offered me a coaching spot ,you have presented me with an opportunity that carries far more responsibility and for that I am very proud and honored to accept, I will justify the reason starting at first practice .
I’m looking forward to working with and for you in our upcoming season, and very excited about wearing the maroon and black and feeling the Warrior Pride from the sidelines.
