Bitter rivalry and old scores settled by dominant team performance

Assistant Head Coach Adrian Sibleyattributed Sunday’s winning performance to ‘a total team effort’, after the Warriors scored 50 unanswered point against bitter rivals Leeds Carnegie and settled an old score while they were at it.

This week Bawtry Road resembled a Dickensian Christmas scene, a blanket of snow covered the pitch as far as the eye could see. But there was no time to stand and admire the spectacle, if the game was to go ahead the important parts of the pitch would have to be cleared and the lines repainted. Credit must therefore go to the volunteers who arrived 4 hours prior to kick off to uncover the pitch markings and the end zones. After a pitch inspection by the officials and the opposing coaches, the field was passed as fit and the teams prepared for battle.
